Minnesota's House District 5A is a place of beauty with it's many lakes, forested areas, and friendly small towns. Yet with all this it remains a place of significant industry. With mining, logging, small farms, and a myriad of small businesses industry still survives.
The area can boast of a very industrious and well educated work force and yet industry, and yes well paying jobs, are not what they could be or should be. For too long a sinister idea has pervaded the district. The idea that businesses can be paid by grants, low interest loans, and short term tax reductions to locate in the district. The consequences of this are businesses (most with jobs on the low end of the pay scale) that locate here only until the grant money is used up and the term of tax reductions expires.
In the middle steps Greg Knutson, a man that will not shirk the responsibility to represent all the people in the district. To use common sense, a commodity too long lacking in the area, to promote industry and the subsequent high paying jobs while preserving the spectacular beauty of the area. By lowering business taxes permantly, cutting all unnecessary government intrusions into business, improving the district's transportation, and promoting the district's supremely capable work force, he can and will get the high paying jobs and industry the area has for so long been waiting. He will do this while helping existing businesses to suceed and expand.
